Toddler Tantrums and Your Car Insurance

If you have a toddler, taking them to the grocery store every other week is probably just part of your routine. You gather a list, put your tot in the car seat, and go on your merry way. You’ll arrive at the store and methodically go through your list one by one picking out the items to complete your favorite recipes. Everything is going smoothly. Oh no. You spoke too soon. Why is your toddler crying? Lucky Charms is just too sugary! He’s going above and beyond an acceptable reaction!

Tears, kicking, and screaming can soon be seen and heard throughout the store. Most times, throwing the unhealthy snack in the cart is a quick fix to avoid embarrassment. However, tantrums are virtually unavoidable until the age of 4.

Toddlers have not developed their prefrontal cortex enough. That’s why they legitimately fear their nose getting taken or think you can’t see them when they hide under the rug during a game of hide-and-seek.

Parenting.com offers 5 ways to stop a tantrum. Although you may suffer a minute or two of embarrassment at the store, effectiveness will help in the long run and shorten future tantrums.

So when you strap in your tot to run errands, make sure to have a plan in mind. And, of course, since you are driving around on a regular basis, review your CT auto insurance policy to maintain maximum protection. Moreover, kids can cause a ruckus in your home, so check your CT home insurance policy as well to cover all of your bases.

Solar-Powered Roads=Safer Roads; Good News for Car Insurance

Imagine your morning commute to work after a freezing night that normally produces black ice, but able to go the speed limit with minimal risk of slipping and sliding. In this dream world, the roads will be constructed out of heated, solar-powered glass instead of asphalt.

This futuristic road would reduce the amount of plows and sanders needed, allowing for safer travel and less accidents. The idea and prototype for this new kind of road has already been designed and implemented and seems to work effectively and efficiently.

The team seemingly has every area covered, taking into account what would happen at night, or during cloudy days. The roadways would have multiple layers to protect the technology, but also provide a safe driving surface. Moreover, the panels would be interconnected to provide assistance to any panel that is having issues.

This would hopefully lower the amount of auto accidents, especially during the winter months. However, until that time comes be sure to review your CT auto insurance policy with your Encharter agent. CT Car insurance is continually changing and updating so make sure to check if you are receiving the best policy you need.

Sleep Improves Memory?

If there is one thing I like, it is a good night’s sleep. Those 7 or 8 hours (sometimes even more) are crucial for me to be a functioning member of society the next day. That is why I am never the one to stay up all night cramming for a final exam or watching mindless TV shows at 3 am. Although we all know getting enough sleep is good for your health, it also improves your ability to store important memories.

So if you are deciding whether or not you want to watch just one more episode of your favorite show (especially if you have them on DVD and a commercial free episode is just a click away), it is best to save it for another day and put your head on your pillow. We keep compiling memories every day, so consolidating and storing them is something that happens every night while we sleep. Even napping can help this memory process, only if a dream occurs during the nap.

Of course, sometimes just falling asleep is hard enough because we are already trying to remember things. Did I shut the oven off? When does the meeting start tomorrow? Did I remember to pay the insurance bill?

At Encharter Insurance, we want you to get a good night’s sleep as well. Drowsy driving can be equally s harmful as some drunk driving incidents, so make sure you are alert for your morning commute! Additionally, it is always a wise decision to review your CT auto insurance policy, as well as your CT home insurance policy.
