Sleep Improves Memory?

If there is one thing I like, it is a good night’s sleep. Those 7 or 8 hours (sometimes even more) are crucial for me to be a functioning member of society the next day. That is why I am never the one to stay up all night cramming for a final exam or watching mindless TV shows at 3 am. Although we all know getting enough sleep is good for your health, it also improves your ability to store important memories.
So if you are deciding whether or not you want to watch just one more episode of your favorite show (especially if you have them on DVD and a commercial free episode is just a click away), it is best to save it for another day and put your head on your pillow. We keep compiling memories every day, so consolidating and storing them is something that happens every night while we sleep. Even napping can help this memory process, only if a dream occurs during the nap.
Of course, sometimes just falling asleep is hard enough because we are already trying to remember things. Did I shut the oven off? When does the meeting start tomorrow? Did I remember to pay the insurance bill?
At Encharter Insurance, we want you to get a good night’s sleep as well. Drowsy driving can be equally s harmful as some drunk driving incidents, so make sure you are alert for your morning commute! Additionally, it is always a wise decision to review your CT auto insurance policy, as well as your CT home insurance policy.
