Free Ice-Skating in Bushnell Park in Hartford, CT
On December 10, the public ice-skating rink in Bushnell Park in Harford, CT was opened, so if you’re looking for something festive and fun to do right before the holidays, you should check it out! - Wash the car: be sure to wash the exterior AND interior; clear out the trash; “To prevent musty smells and eradicate existing odors, leave activated charcoal bricks in a pan on a car seat. Activated charcoal is a porous substance that is effective for deodorizing.”
- Check the fluids: the gas tank should be full; change the oil; replace the antifreeze and brake fluid.
- Take one last drive for the season: this is to make sure the new fluids have had a chance to flow through the systems.
- Storage: “keep the car indoors for long-term storage; purchase a cover to protect from dust; remove the car battery and store it in a cool, dry location; inflate your tires to a higher pressure than normal as they are likely to lose a little air over time; remove any important documents and valuables.”

Simsbury Fly-In 2010
Connecticut is about to get very busy! The Big E started and even though I know it’s in Agawam, MA, I also know that a lot of you probably cross the border to enjoy the festivities. The Connecticut Fair season is also in full swing with the Durham Fair (with an appearance by country music star, Aaron Tippin) this weekend. With lots to look forward to, the Connecticut Encharter Insurance Team had a great time at the Simsbury Fly-In last weekend.
They had beautiful weather, which led to a great attendance of adults and kids. The organizers of the event even had a bounce house for the children to play in. There were planes of all sorts, hundreds of antique cars and you can’t forget the sky divers.
The Encharter booth had lots of visitors and Jim and Eric wanted to thank all of you who stopped by and filled out raffle tickets. They will be drawing the winning raffle ticket in the next few days, the prize of which is a $100 Visa gift card! Stay tuned for that update soon!
