Workplace Violence Coverage from Encharter Insurance

Due to the tragic events of the past week in Connecticut, the question becomes: “How can a business owner protect his employees and his business from workplace violence?”

Workplace violence insurance can help. According to a recent article from InsureCast, “Workplace Violence insurance coverage is protection against the expenses that a company can face resulting from incidences of workplace violence, including the cost to hire independent security consultants and public relations experts, as well as payment of death benefits and business interruption expenses.” It’s terrible, but these are the statistics with which we live, courtesy of InsureCast:

  • Every week, nearly 20 workers are murdered at their place of work
  • Every year, companies report:
    • 650 workplace violence-related homicides
    • 2 million assaults
    • 6 million serious threats

It’s time to be sure that you, your employees and your business are safe! Talk to your local Encharter Insurance today about how Workplace Violence Insurance coverage can help you.

Moving? Let Encharter Insurance Make It Easier!

While moving can be scary and stressful, it can also be very exciting. I moved this past March and there were certainly some aspects that I could have lived without. But, I will admit that the overall experience was fun because it was the beginning of a new chapter. One thing that I find most interesting about the process is learning more about the community into which you are moving: the history of the area, where the best places to eat are, and, if you’re a parent, determining the quality of the school system. A good way to do that would be to check the average standardized test scores of the state and/or town in question.

On July 16, the Hartford Courant issued an article based on the 2010 Connecticut Mastery Test scores. The article reports on general improvement of scores of elementary and middle school students in Connecticut. If you are new to Connecticut, or new to an area in Connecticut, be sure to check out this article and use the links it has to investigate the school system in the area.

Another thing to keep in mind while you are preparing for your big move is insurance. Encharter Insurance can help you with all of your personal insurance needs for CT Homeowner’s Insurance, CT Car Insurance, CT Life Insurance and even CT Business Insurance.  We are an independent agency, which means that we can take care of the policy shopping for you and you can be sure you’re getting the best possible policy for the best possible price.

So be sure to contact your local Encharter Insurance agent for questions about Watertown CT Homeowner’s Insurance, Watertown CT Car Insurance, Watertown Life Insurance and Watertown CT Business Insurance. You can call us at 888-865-1244, you can visit our virtual insurance office at www.encharter.com or you can visit our office for insurance in Watertown CT. “It’s The End Of The World As My Business Knows It” in New Haven

Owning and running a small business is a lot of work and it takes a special kind of person. If you are one of those people, you know exactly what I am talking about. You’ve also discovered that traditional methods of marketing your business are increasingly more expensive and increasingly less effective. So what is a small business to do?

Well, like you, Encharter Insurance is a small business and, like you, we had to figure out new ways of increasing our brand awareness. We have found that the key is to leverage the power of the Internet. More and more of your customers and prospects are researching and shopping for products and services online, using Google© as the new phonebook. If you know that’s true, and that Youtube© is the second largest search engine in the world, and that Facebook© sees more web traffic than any other website, shouldn’t your company be on the Internet where the majority of your clients are spending their time? Yes! And we are here to help you figure out how.

Come to our social media seminar, “It’s The End of the World As My Business Knows It”, at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce at 8am on July 29. Not only will we show you why social media networking and digital marketing has become one of the most effective ways to increase your brand awareness, boost your search engine optimization (and, thus, boost your Google© Search Results rating), but we will show you HOW you, as a small business owner, can leverage this tool for your competitive advantage.

If you’re interested in learning more, be sure to RSVP by July 22nd by email to EndoftheWorld@encharter.com or you can call 888-865-1244.

And if you have any questions about Watertown Commercial Auto Insurance, Watertown Commercial Property Insurance, Watertown General Liability Insurance, Watertown Home Insurance, Watertown Car Insurance or Watertown Life Insurance, we’d like to help with that too! You can call us at 888-865-1244 or you can get a FREE quote at our virtual insurance office at www.encharter.com. You can also visit our office for insurance in Watertown CT. Car Insurance Myths De-Mystified

We’ve all heard them before. They’ re the myths we hear about car insurance, and now, we finally have some clarification! Courtesy of Money Central on MSN.com, here’s the list:

  • Red cars are NOT the most expensive to insure.
  • Thieves are more likely to steal OLDER cars, not newer ones.
  • Unless you have comprehensive coverage on your car insurance policy, you are NOT covered if your car is stolen, vandalized or damaged by hail or fire.
  • Unless you have gap insurance, your insurance will NOT pay off what you owe on your loan or lease if your car is totaled.
  • Unless you have rental reimbursement coverage on your car insurance policy, your insurance company will NOT pay for a rental car if your car is stolen or damaged in an accident.
  • Drivers of sports cars DO NOT necessarily get more tickets and thus pay higher insurance premiums.

For more in-depth explanation on these myths, see the website!

Your Encharter Insurance agent would be more than willing to answer any questions you might have about car insurance in general. With their experience and expertise, they can help you find the best possible policy for the best possible price. Contact us today!

Be Sure to Insure Your Antique Car!

My dad has always said that you can tell a lot about a person by the kind of car they drive and I think that is mostly true (there are always the exceptions to rules…). I think a car can have a certain personality associated with it and, what I love about the Disney Pixar movie, “Cars”, is that they bring these personalities to life. And most everyone likes the sleek, new, faster models; there’s no denying their value. But, when it comes to class and sophistication, most may agree that it’s the older classics that are just right. And what better way to celebrate the trusty, rusty “Hudson Hornets” of this world, than to let them show up the “young’uns” in a show?

On July 9, the Torringford Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its 13th Annual Car Show and Night at the Movies from 5pm-9pm along Main Street in Downtown Torrington.  Admission for cars is $10; motorcycles $5.  The Warner Theatre will be showing “Smokey and the Bandit”.  For showtimes, tickets, and a list of food vendors and entertainment, visit the website!

If you are the proud owner of an antique car, then the agents at Encharter Insurance want to help you protect it by helping you find an Antique Auto Insurance policy. Be sure that it is adequately protected against loss. It’s an investment you want to be sure is kept safe.

And if you have any questions about Watertown Car Insurance, Watertown Life Insurance, Watertown Homeowner’s Insurance or Watertown Business Insurance, we’d like to help with that too!
